I clearly need to be more aggressive to make a dent. My BMI has been around 5 kilos beyond the healthy range for the past 2 years, despite my efforts, virtually unchanged. Are you still overweight after the 2 years? Or in the healthy range but just hope to get healthier? It’s the latter for me but after all the holiday season binging I’ve been doing I’m treading a very thin line. Immediately started on a caloric deficit and signed up for BB fitness classes.
Stepped on the scale for the first time in a month the other day, was horrified by the number. I mainly need to see bigger improvements on my weight and blood pressure to reach the healthy zone. I’m now adding more exercise and tightening portion control even more. I went for a health screening two weeks back… although I’ve seen some improvements, it’s not as much as I’d hoped for, given the diet & exercise regime I’ve stuck to over the past 2 years. Hi, not sure if it’s the new year approaching or the post-holiday season guilt but I’ve found myself doubling down on my fitness kick. So, I'd recommend it if you can find a pricing that suits you. (Although they all have the basic stuff.) This means, when I want a change, I can just pop over to a different gym and have access to different equipment or if I need to work onsite somewhere, I can workout in a gym closest to my temporary work location. As I mentioned in my previous post, each AF gym is somewhat different in terms of the equipment and space they have. Unfortunately, since the 'circuit breaker', it's opening hours are much more limited now (from 6am weekdays, 8am weekends). I really liked that my local gym used to open 24 hours so I could literally have a workout at anytime. My local gym is literally a 4 minute stroll from my front door.

I don’t think there are any AF branches opening up in the near future… even so the staff member who I spoke with said that rates are “standardized” across all branches so the only way to lower them would be to sign on for a longer term. For example, I use my local AF gym (150 m from my door) for most of my workouts but on "Leg Day", I go the Harbourfront Branch because it has some specialist pieces of equipment that I really like. Bear in mind that the different AF branches will vary in terms of space and equipment. After that, your key fob will give you access to any AF branch so you can simply go to the branch nearest to y0u while continuing to pay the introductory rate. The catch is, you have to exclusively go to that gym for the first 3 months. I signed up just as it opened and I'm paying $88 a month. My neighborhood AF had opening rates of $68 per month, which some members are still paying now, 5 years later. They will have special introductory rates that you will pay for as long as you maintain your membership. If you want to get the best value for money, look for an Anytime Fitness branch that is just about to open. If the prices are negotiable or that’s just hearsay. If this price is the standard now (I remember smoulder saying it was in the 80s) and 2. I remember discussing AF with smoulder on another thread, but can’t seem to find it. Signing on for 12 months brings it down to $101, but I can’t because I will be moving back to the US some time next year, certainly before the membership expires.
I’ve reached out to the AF by me to make a membership inquiry, and the staff gave me $128 per month as the membership price. My boxing membership expired a few weeks ago and I’ve been thinking about switching up my exercises- thinking of doing strength and cardio instead of boxing for now (although technically boxing combines both).

Registered for a trial fitness plan at Barry’s Bootcamp for the HIIT classes but I’m also planning on getting a gym membership.
